Super Loads:

A super load is any vehicle exceeding:

• 20 feet in width,

• 120 feet in length,

• 17 feet in height,

• Or a gross weight of 190,000 pounds.

When transporting loads 10 feet wide or greater at night on two-lane roads (one lane per direction), a front escort is required along with flashing amber lights mounted at the rear of the load.

For divided highways (two or more lanes per direction) during night travel, loads 10 feet wide or greater must have a rear escort and flashing amber lights at the rear.

Loads that are subject to pavement and bridge clearance restrictions require a rear escort to ensure safe passage over affected routes.
