POLICE ESCORTS

Superloads under 134,000 lbs. may require a police escort based on road conditions.

Superloads of 134,000 lbs. or more require a police escort if the route involves bridge slowdowns.

All superloads must obtain a permit from the Indiana Department of Revenue (IDOR).
-
Superloads weighing 200,000 lbs. or more require 4 police escorts.
A Superload is defined as any vehicle and its load that exceeds the following dimensions and weights:
