POLICE ESCORTS

 

  • Superloads under 134,000 lbs. may require a police escort based on road conditions.

  • Superloads of 134,000 lbs. or more require a police escort if the route involves bridge slowdowns.

  • All superloads must obtain a permit from the Indiana Department of Revenue (IDOR).

  • Superloads weighing 200,000 lbs. or more require 4 police escorts.

A Superload is defined as any vehicle and its load that exceeds the following dimensions and weights:

  • Width over 17’

  • Height over 15’

  • Length over 110’

  • Weight over 108,000 lbs.
